Information About Sophie:


Personal Description:

I have just graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Modern Languages and I am fluent in French and Italian. I am enthusiastic, friendly and flexible with a passion for language and I would enjoy teaching children or adults of any age. I have my own transport and am willing to travel within the Oxford area.



Teaching Experience:

I have no formal teaching experience as I graduated this June, but I do have extensive experience with children (I have been an Au Pair in both France and Italy) and have also worked as a translator.



Tutoring Approach:

The tutoring that I offer is based upon on an informal learning process which focusses on development through speaking practice and discussion and analysis of texts. I am not qualified to teach the formal syllabus required for GCSE or A-level, but my skills are ideally suited to those who wish to increase their comprehension and fluency in either French or Italian. I received commendation from the Chief examiner for my Englishh A-level coursework, and would be both keen and well qualified to help students heighten their understanding of literary texts and their analytical skills, as well as working on spelling, punctuation and grammar.
