Information About Alexis:
Personal Description:
I am currently a graduate student from Canada, studying medicine at the University of Aberdeen. I have a strong background from my undergraduate degree in life sciences but tutor several non-science subjects as well.
Teaching Experience:
I have privately tutored students for the past 4 years in a variety of subjects including: basic sciences (biology, chemistry), maths, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, english, writing and reading comprehension. I have experience with students from the elementary to university level.
Tutoring Approach:
Tutoring sessions usually begin with a review of any class lessons or homework that have posed a problem in order to identify areas of weakness, followed by an explanation of the underlying principles. We then proceed to work through assigned material as well as additional problems to ensure complete understanding.
I am very patient and able to explain the reasoning behind what it is that we are doing in order to help the student fully understand the material, allowing them to apply it on their own in the future.
I have experience teaching to students with a variety of learning styles and am able to adapt in order to cater to their individual needs.

Qualifications:
- I have completed a BSc. Honours specializing in Life Sciences at Queen's University. My degree focused on topics such as: anatomy, physiology and biochemistry.
- I also have strong mathematical and writing skills, which I further developed during my time in university.
