Personal Description:
I am an experienced teacher with a vast amount of knowledge and practice. I have been teaching for 5 years in a local primary school. I am currently teaching a mixed Y5/6 class. I have a great deal of tutoring experience on a 1 to 1 and small group settings.
Teaching Experience:
I am a quaified and experienced primary school teacher. I have been teaching in a local primary school for 5 years(6th year beginning this September 08). I am currently studying for a Masters in Special Educational Needs and have experience in helping dyslexic children overcome reading and spelling difficulties. Prior to this I worked abroad teaching English as a foreign language to children and adults in Poland, Spain & Japan. Before completing my PGCE my BSc(Hons) in Psychology specialised in Educational Issues and Acquisition of Language.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to tutoring is one that is fun, stimulating and enjoyable for the pupil and myself. I employ a variety of VAK (Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic) learning experiences. I am very calming, reasuring and above all I strive to make learning fun! My aim is that they become confident and are able achieve success in school as an independent learner.
