Catherine - Mortlake tutor
Information About Catherine:
Personal Description:
I am a 26 year old professional currently working in medical communications. I graduated in 2009 with a First Class Honours degree in Biology from Manchester University, and I now live in Mortlake. My job involves researching into specific medical conditions, so I get to keep topping up my Biology knowledge.
Teaching Experience:
I have no formal teaching qualifications, but I have now been tutoring for over 4 years, including UK GCSE, AS-level and A-level exams, as well as US 10th Grade biology.
Tutoring Approach:
I firmly believe that anything can be interesting if the person teaching you is passionate about it. I also believe that if you find something interesting it's a lot easier to understand and do well in. My approach to tutoring revolves around this philosophy, and incorporates as many different learning styles as possible. Biology is relevant to almost everything, and when you realise just how much of the world around you it can help to explain, that's when you begin to appreciate the subject. Failing that, I remember what it's like to just want to get through the exams, so am very prepared to give all the advice I can to make sure they're as painless as possible.

- BSc (Hons) Biology (First class)
