Information About Samantha:
Personal Description:
I currently work part-time as a teacher in a surrey primary school. The rest of the time I am a
mum to my 4 year old son. I have taught across key stage 1 and 2. I was originally trained as a science teacher. I undertook a Zoology degree at University followed by an MSc in Conservation.
Teaching Experience:
I was a science teacher in a middle school, teaching all years from Y6 to Y8. I have taught all subjects within a primary school for the last 5 years and have experience of teaching all year groups.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe in finding out what areas the tutee feels they lack confidence in and using that as a starting point for tuition. If the tuition is in preparation for SATs or other exams the method will require a more structured approach ensuring coverage of all the required areas. I firmly believe children should be involved in structuring their own learning evaluating their own performance. This is the approach that my current school also adopts.
