Samuel - Bridgwater tutor
Information About Samuel:
Personal Description:
See what some of my previous students have to say about me:
Samuel has a quiet and unassuming manner which worked well with our lively teenage son who had previously been a little disinterested in Maths. Our son commented:- "that he had understood more from Samuel in three months than during his entire GCSE course at full time school ".
I commend Samuel highly. He is honest, friendly, reliable, quiet and exceptionally well qualified. He has a very good understanding of a child's needs and personality. Our son's result speaks for itself.
(John, Wallingford)
In my son's own words - "I wish all my teachers at school would take the same approach, I am able to understand & grasp his teaching methods clearly."
(Etrily, Didcot)
You were patient and calm in all your dealings with Lucy.
Thank you for your help and best wishes for the future.
(Rhonda, Wootton)
We are absolutely delighted with the work Samuel has done with our daughter. She has gained enormous confidence through his patience and wonderfully clear instruction. Never an academic high flier, she has moved on leaps and bounds through his help. We have had outside help before, but none with the success she has achieved with Samuel. We have the highest confidence in him and would recommend him to any friend.
(Dr Bart, Oxford)
I found Samuel to be pleasant, patient and thorough and my son was pleased to find that he was able to discuss some topics in which he was particularly interested, at a greater depth than was actually required for the exams, during the lessons. I am pleased to say that my son achieved A grades in Physics, Chemistry and Biology on the higher tier papers this summer, following his revision sessions with Samuel.
(Lynda, Blewbury)
Samuel's tuition helped me to understand and achieve a good grade in a subject that I found difficult. He was easy to talk to and willing to go over and over concepts until I understood. Without Samuel's help, I would not have achieved the grade I did.
(Georgia, Didcot)
I think that Samuel helped me significantly in my physics work, having the chance to work one on one with someone that clearly understands the subject to a great depth is far better than the class room environment.
(Elliot, Harwell)
Teaching Experience:
I am a qualified teacher, with six years' experience of teaching at secondary school. I also have over six years' experience of one-to-one teaching. I have helped students of all levels of ability prepare for their exams. Get in touch to discuss how I can help you too.
Tutoring Approach:
It can be easy to get lost in a class. Private tuition, though, is all about you. What you need, what you find confusing, what you want to learn.
Come to a session with an area you want to go over, a topic you don't understand or just some homework that you don't get. I promise you that no question will ever be too stupid, no matter how many times you think you have asked it before. We will go over it until we find a way that makes sense to you.
When you don't understand a topic, it is usually because there are some gaps in your knowledge further back - especially in subjects like maths and science. I will help you to find those gaps and fill them in. This often means that topics that used to be just a confusing mass of rules and equations suddenly start to make sense.
I look forward to hearing from you!
