Information About Corrine:

Personal Description:

I love being a teacher! Watching pupils develop and grow in their knowledge of science is something that gives me great joy. I am a mother of 3 young children and moved up to Cheshire from the West Midlands 4 and a half years ago. I have taught in 2 outstanding schools and have learnt a lot over the years of what makes for effective teaching and learning.

Teaching Experience:

I am currently a second in department in a thriving secondary school. I have 10 years experience in teaching A level Biology/GCSE Science privately with continued success with pupils of all abilities. Several of my pupils have achieved 100% UMS marks in their exams and most pupils I tutor move up at least one grade if not more than predicted by their school/college. I am also an examiner for AQA and therefore have a very clear and focussed understanding of the assessment process at both A Level and GCSE. This invaluable knowledge certainly contributes to the success of the pupils I teach.

Tutoring Approach:

I make sure pupils not only have a firm understanding of the scientific knowledge and concepts, but also of the assessment process and exam technique. Pupils are provided with a hand book containing a bank of past exam questions and exam paper terminology which is pertinent to them being successful in what are increasingly difficult exam papers.
