Personal Description:
I am a Psychology Graduate of Birmingham University, returning to Universtiy in September to complete my PGCE teaching course. I received a 2.1 award with a 1st award for my dissitaiton.
I completed my English Language and Drama A-levels, receiving an A and school awards for outstanding achievment in both of these subjects.
I am enthusiastic and encouraging individual with a passion for teaching and helping young people to gain confidence and further their understanding and abilities. I have been complemented on my teaching style and interpersonal skills.
I look forward to a career in teaching.
Teaching Experience:
Two weeks in Pentrebane Primary school, voluntary work experience. Working with children accross all ages and abilities, one on one with those having difiiculties as well as observng and participating in lessons and extra curricular activities. Also worked in the learning support unit with children with learning and/or behavioural difficulties.
Pilgrims English Languag Courses, Bradfield College, Reading. Intensive English Language course, teaching English to foreign children of a variety of ages through the 'intergrated learning' scheme.
Tutoring Approach:
Either one on one tutoring or 'seminar' style teaching up to 3 students. Using the subject curriculum but taking time to focus on specific areas the student is finding difficult. Working with the student in a discussion and problem solving manner, sharing ideas helping to boost the student's confidence as well as abilities.
