Laura - Croy tutor
Information About Laura:
Personal Description:
I am a friendly, approachable person and I enjoy socialising with my friends and family. I like to read for pleasure and also enjoy exercising regularly. I am patient and understanding and I apply this in my day to day life at work. In relation to my own study I always strive to put optimum effort into this as I believe this will make me stronger in my teaching and knowledge.
I live at home with my parents, two younger sisters and very adorable little dog.
Teaching Experience:
I am a newly qualified teacher teaching in the Falkirk Council area. I currently teach P6, which is a great challenge but very enjoyable. I have had experience of other age groups during my initial teacher training, so I am more than willing to tutor any age of the primary sector. I have studied Additional Support for Learning throughout university and I am working closely with children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and ADHD in my current role. I take a very active approach to my teaching, working closely with the children and finding activities which suit their learning styles and more importantly that they enjoy. I continue to evaluate the effectiveness of my practice and how I can improve the learning of the children.
Tutoring Approach:
I am new to tutoring itself but I don't imagine it would be that unlike one to one in the classroom, which I have done often when a child in my class has required some extra support. In this case I will set the rest of the class on task and give this child the relevant support, employing the teaching methods I mentioned. I embrace new challenges and look forward to this new style of teaching.
