Information About Hannah:

Personal Description:

My name is Hannah and I'm a qualified teacher currently teaching Year 2 in a local primary school.
I am passionate about working with children and young people and enjoy the social element my profession entails. I qualified as a teacher at the University of Chester (B.Ed (with honours) in Primary Education (QTS) with Early Years, 2:1) and now live in Wallasey, Wirral.
I enjoy travel, a wide variety of literature, music, art, photography, film, theatre and health and fitness.

Teaching Experience:

I enjoy teaching as I find it very rewarding and fulfilling. I have over 7 years experience teaching students ages 3-17 in schools, nurseries and early years settings.
I have a great deal of experience teaching individual children (tutoring) within school in terms of extra support, intervention and gifted and talented programmes. I have worked with children with Special Educational Needs ranging from physical and cognitive to behavioural and emotional. I have also taught students for whom English is an additional language.
My Specialist Subject Areas are Numeracy (Maths), Literacy (English) and Early Years (ages 3-7). I have also taught Spanish as an extra-curricular activity.

Tutoring Approach:

I am dedicated to ensuring that all my students reach their full potential. I believe that listening to my students is a crucial element, a two way positive teaching and learning relationship following the interests and learning styles of the student is paramount. The student should always be fully included and aware of their targets and goals to be achieved. I plan my sessions beginning with the individual students needs and abilities. I believe that confidence and positive self-esteem are vital foundations for progress and success, and I always endeavour to promote these.
Being a school teacher, and having taught ages 3-17, has enlightened me fully to the pressures, levels and standards children/students are expected to meet. Therefore I consider myself an effective tutor in supporting students in meeting these expectations.
It is also important to me that my students enjoy the learning and sessions I provide, that my teaching is delivered with interest and humour, and that they experience the opportunities and benefits learning offers.
