Personal Description:
I am a qualified secondary science school teacher, currently working in County Durham. I love my subject and really enjoy teaching. I live with my other half and my labrador, Honey. I have a current enhanced CRB check and have worked with young people since finishing my GCSEs.
Teaching Experience:
I am currently teaching 11-19 year olds in County Durham. I have been teaching in Gateshead for the last year, and previously worked at Newcastle College with 6th form students completing their A levels. I am able to teach Key Stage 3 Biology, Chemistry and Physics, all the way through GCSE and also A levels.
Tutoring Approach:
I love tutoring and really enjoy working one to one with students. I am a very visual person and know that not all students find it easy remembering all the facts. I use various resources, from handouts to music as revision and learning aids. I tailor my teaching to the particular student and am happy to focus on whatever method is best for them. My approach is friendly and steady, with study breaks and 'homework' that you can try when you have a spare moment. I believe that testing your knowledge is really good way to make sure that you've learnt the information and will devise small quizzes and tests to confirm that its all gone in!
