Personal Description:

My name is Amjad. I am a native English speaker. I am married with children. I have been living in England for 30 years. I am educated to degree level and I am currently studying a B.A. Degree in Youth Work. I love traveling and I am a very humble and approachable person. I have excellent communication skills and I love meeting new people from all over the world. I love teaching because it gives me great satisfaction to make a difference to people's lives for the better.



Teaching Experience:

I have taught in different areas of the north west of England like Manchester, Bolton and Preston. I have worked for training companies and local government e.g. Manchester City Council. I have been teaching English ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) since 2003. I have taught at different levels from the very basic to G.C.S.E. level. Being very adaptable, I can handle situations from teaching large groups to one to one tutoring. in the main I have used and adapted the government's Skills for Life programme.



Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is to use the knowledge that the student already has and negotiate a programme of study based upon their expectations and time scales. In groups I concentrate on differentiation to accommodate different learning styles and capabilities. I keep track of student's progress through regular tests and group work. Of the four skills I concentrate of speaking and listening as these are the first a person had to understand.
