Personal Description:

I'm a 30 years old native Italian, I come from Rome, where I graduated in Italian Literature. I came to Birmingham to do my PhD, which I completed, and I'm planning to remain in UK for some time to come.

Teaching Experience:

Oct 2007- Mar 2009: teacher of Italian language for the Department of Italian studies at the University of Birmingham- I taught final year students in Italian
Aug 2007- Nov 2007: tutor of Italian language for Cactus Language: I taught an adult student who needed basic Italian for customer relations in business
Aug 2007- Sep 2007: tutor of italian language for Language Trainers: I taught adult students who needed basic Italian for holidays
Oct 2006 - Mar 2007: teacher of Italian language for the Department of Italian studies at the University of Birmingham: I taught final year students in Italian
Jan 2006- present day: I've been conducting conversation classes
Jan 2005 - Sep 2005: Teacher of Italian and Latin Language and Literature at the Istituto salesiano "Villa Sora", Liceo classico e Liceo scientifico, Frascati, Rome, Italy: I taught groups of Italian students who had to recover their credits before their final diploma exam

Tutoring Approach:

My tutoring is tailored to the individual student's needs, at both basic and advanced levels.
My tutoring is focused on essential gramar and syntax as well as on uses of the language in practical life. I've used Italian newspapers, TV programmes and music to facilitate the learning of the language in a real context of Italian culture. I also believe in the importance of entertainment in learning.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Italian Studies
• Master Degree in Italian Studies (Italian Laurea vecchio ordinamento)
