Personal Description:
I am a friendly, outgoing student from Nottingham and I am starting a Medical Degree in September at Newcastle University. I have a wide range of qualifications at excellent grades, up to and including A2-level. In my spare time I enjoy running and playing the oboe (I recently achieved Grade 8). I am a keen swimmer and a part-time lifeguard.
Teaching Experience:
I have been a part of my school's Maths Buddy scheme for the past few years, helping younger students with their difficulties with the subject. I have also provided informal tutoring services to peers.
Tutoring Approach:
I encourage tutees to approach problems from a difficult angle, rather than simply saying "I can't do it". I also believe strongly in presenting information in a different format than usual, for example using flow charts and diagrams in place of normal written notes, as this can often aid learning.
