Personal Description:
I am a sincere, honest, hard-working and disciplined person with a sparkly personality and a zest for life. My motivators are: interacting with people, caring, helping, teaching and making others feel good about themselves.
Teaching Experience:
I have a diverse background in teaching: languages, (French and English), Health/Yoga and Ayurveda, as well as having extensive experience in the Television/Film industry as a TV presenter/actress for film/TV and theatre. My qualifications and experience lie in the fields of language, teaching and health. I hold a degree in French and English, am bilingual, and have worked extensively as a foreign language teacher to both children and adults, in N.Z and Paris. I have also worked in the U.K as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to children with moderate-severe learning or behavioural difficulties, as well I taught a year 9 french class in a N.Z college. I have extensive experience nannying for solo families, both live-in and casual, and whilst living in Auckland I ran my own after school kids programme, 'XPRESSION SESSIONS with Jos!'
For the past 3 years up until our departure from NZ in May 2008, I was managing a Heath store 'Health 2000', on the side running Yoga classes, consultating in Yoga and Ayurveda, and teaching french to children and adults.
Tutoring Approach:
I treat every student as equal, regardless of age, ability and background. I am a fair, direct, motivated teacher who strives to make my students feel comfortable and confident to express their unique voice and develop their talents. I am very careful not to highlight student's learning difficulties, by providing them with consistent positive feedback. I give my 100% with every individual and ask the same in return.
