Personal Description:

I am a postgraduate student in Economics at the University of Oxford and I possess a first class degree in the same subject. I offer a teaching programme up to GCSE mathematics that is carefully tailored to the needs and previous preparation of each individual student.



Teaching Experience:

I have substantial experience of tutoring at Key Stage 3, GCSE, A-Level and degree level, and I regularly provide adult education. Students commonly consider that my tuition has improved their academic performance by several grades or degree classifications.



Tutoring Approach:

I aim to consult with students prior to each meeting to ensure that teaching is both efficient and focussed. My emphasis is on promoting tutees' intuition and understanding rather than teaching mechanical techniques to solving problems. This approach, I believe, provides the most reliable grounding for a strong examination performance, a solid preparation for further study and helps motivate students. I'm also happy to provide more general guidance in dealing with exams and other academic issues, and offer tuition for many aspects of A-Level mathematics/statistics and economics/econometrics up to degree level. Tuition can be given in English or Welsh.
