Personal Description:
I am a qualified teacher of English working in a vibrant secondary school in South Bristol. I have been providing private tuition for two years now, helping those who just want help with their exam preparation for the SAT's and GCSE's as well as providing tuition to those who simply need additional support with their English skills.
Teaching Experience:
I am currently in my fifth year of teaching and have been responsible for the running of the SAT's for two years now. I am able to prepare student for all areas of the exam as well as provide general English assistance for those pupils who need additional support at any stage of their secondary school career.
I am able to teach both the AQA and WJEC syllabuses for English Language and English Literature at GCSE ensuring pupils are well prepared for their exams as well as enable them to write successful pieces of coursework.
Tutoring Approach:
My own personal philosophy of education is the belief that whilst the goals of education are the same for all pupils, the process of achieving them is not. A good teacher needs to take into account pupils preferred learning styles and be able to implement differentiation effectively to meet these, whilst at the same time promoting a flexible and motivational atmosphere. The secret to being a successful teacher is enjoying it and I would welcome the opportunity to share the enjoyment I get from teaching with your child.
