Personal Description:
I have completed a degree in Physics with Space Science and Technology from the University of Leicester and I am a registered tutor with Personal tutors Ltd, Cheadle House, Cheadle, Cheshire, SK8 1AH. Teaching Experience:
1) Jan-Nov 2000, Mathematics and English language tutor, private client.
Students aged 11 and 13 sitting the GCE Intenational O' Level examinations.
2) Jan 1998 - Jul 2001, Islamic studies teacher, Haydari Madressah, Nairobi, Kenya.
Islamic studies teacher at a night school in Nairobi, Kenya teaching 8 year old students. Class of 22 students.
3) Sep 2001 - Jun 2006, Belgrave School, Leicester, UK.
Subjects taught there were Mathematics, English Language and English Literature. Class of 10 students.
4) Sep 2001 - 2006, Anysubject Ltd. private tutoring agency, Stamford, UK.
I thereafter joined Anysubject Ltd. and worked with them between 2001 and 2006. This involved giving private tuition to GCSE students at their homes. I had clients in Leicester, Southampton, Cardiff and Bedford. During this time I taught Science in addition to other subjects mentioned above.
5) Aug 2007 - present, Alpha tutors Ltd. and Personal tutors Ltd, Cheshire, UK.
Tutoring Approach:
I offer just one hour introductory session initially to get to know the student and parent/guardian. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions about me, for me to provide you with my references and qualification details and for me to take the student through a few guide questions to recognise the level at which they are. I can then judge, according to your expectations, how many lessons and what duration per week/fortnight the student will require to reach that expectation. Eg. from General level to Credit level at Standard grade. Once completed you can then have a think over the lesson and engage in a conversation with your child if they feel confident enough to have me as their tutor and mentor. Once this is settled we can go ahead with further tuition.
