Information About Mark:
Personal Description:
I believe that good tuition should do all the things school cannot do, and have found that one-on-one time is worth about 4x that spent in school. One hour per week for a few weeks is usually all it takes to put most students back on track. After that, your ambition is the only limit!
Teaching Experience:
I have taught in schools around Lancashire, Cumbria and West Yorkshire and now work at the Hastings Academy. I have also taught in Thailand and Spain, working in well regarded international schools using the British curriculum.
Tutoring Approach:
It isn't about just being better, it's about being different too - private tuition offers opportunities to learn in ways that even private schools are unable to offer.
All resources are provided free of charge, including use of an extensive library of workbooks and study guides. I am an expert at exam preparation and have a five year back catalogue of exam papers and mark schemes from all major exam boards. As I also mark GCSE English papers for Edexcel, this is another perspective I can offer students.
Qualifications:
Masters in Education (distinction).
English Education degree (2.1).
Qualified Teacher Status and enhanced CRB clearance.
A-levels in English, Mathematics, Politics, and General Studies.
Extra services:
English at KS3, GCSE, A-level, degree, foreign language.
Other subjects: Maths at KS3 and GCSE.
Proofreading of coursework/essays.
Excluded from school? Not a problem! I can even enter you for GCSE exams personally.
Illness/injury keeping you away from school? I can come to you, and even help in a range of subjects.
"Crash course" and trouble-shooting exam preparation if you've left it to the last minute; make sure you don't throw away those easy marks!
Tuition can be provided in a converted room at my home in Saffron Walden, or I can come to you at cost.
