Personal Description:

I have been teaching and tutoring for over 10 years in an inner London school and have a wide variety of extra curricular activities to my experience, including sports, drama and school trips. I believe that students can achieve their potential through continous encouragement and praise whether this be in the classroom or during tutoring sessions.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching in an inner London school for the last 10 years and before that at a inner London sixth form college. I have been graded as a Outstanding teacher during the last two years and enjoy teaching History to students between the ages of 11-19. I am also an Edexcel Examiner and for the last two years have been marking exam papers on line for Edexcel, as well as last year marking A2 papers for a major exam board.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe tutoring should be suited to individual needs of the student so no two tutoring sessions are the same. I do this by engaging students in a variety of activities during tutoring sessions, not just using textbooks and writing. A student needs to be engaged during tutoring and enjoy the benefits of one to one session work and this can be done in a number of ways- whether it be by using mini whiteboards, quizzes or kinesthetic activities. I have been successful in mentoring and tutoring students privately and during school with students who are under achievers.
