Samuel - Mill Hill tutor

Information About Samuel:

Personal Description:

I am an approachable, flexible easy going personal tutor. I've have a range of qualifications in multi-disciplinary areas, which means I'm skilled in dealing with people from a all walks of life, and from many different backgrounds.

Teaching Experience:

I have been tutoring for 14 years, since I started my first degree in 1996. Since then I have bee personal tutor to well over 150 students, from all backgrounds, all disciplines, and all age groups (including adult tuition). 2010 was a particularly good year, with the majority of my students receiving A* grades at GCSE and all my A-level biology students achieving the new A* grade.

Over the years, i have worked with an ever increasing number of mature students and adult learners. Some have the aim of gaining GCSEs, others wanting to support their children through school, and not living in fear of the dreaded maths homework! So whatever your level, and whatever your goal, do feel free to get in touch.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a flexible tuition style, and draw from a wide range of real life examples to help student make sense of complicated or confusing concepts, or just to concrete what they already know. I use a range of material and IT equipment to make learning fun and interactive. I am a skilled communicator and I lecture and lead seminars throughout Europe and the USA. Of course, tuition is results driven; most often those are entrance exams, or public exams. I have successfully helped student realise their full potential and go on to bigger and better things.

Students generally fall into one of two categories. Those that require additional support with the material they are covering in class, and those that need the tutor to structure lessons and material to teach the subject areas covered in the syllabus. I am able to take either approach.

To achieve the best outcome, I prefer to work with a student over a period of time leading up to their exams. This gives the student time to feel comfortable and relax, as well as giving me the opportunity to get the best out of them.

My rates are negotiable depending on your distance/commuting time and on circumstances.
