Personal Description:

I am a well-qualified and experienced teacher of French. Although I am English I have lived, worked and studied in France so have an excellent standard of French. I have many French friends and I travel to France regularly to update my knowledge of the language and the culture. I currently teach part-time as I have a young family. I live in Chelmsford in Essex and am able to offer tuition in and around the Chelmsford area. I offer classes for beginners, KS3, GCSE and enjoy teaching both adults and children.

Teaching Experience:

I have 12 years experience of teaching Modern Languages in secondary schools (French to A level standard and Spanish to KS3). During this time I have had vast experience of preparing students for GCSE examinations. I have also offered private tuition to both children and adults for the past four years. I find this work very rewarding. In the past I have also taught adult evening classes. I have also taught English as a Foreign Language to French students both in France and on summer camps in England.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very flexible in my approach to tutoring and will tailor lessons according to each individual student's level and requirements. I can focus on exam preparation, grammar, conversation, French for holidays, games/songs for younger children, etc. I am always keen to receive feedback from my students so that I can make the lessons as worthwhile as possible for you. I try to make the lessons as relaxed and fun as possible!

• BA(Hons) - II.i Applied Language(French, Russian & Linguistics) - University of Brighton 1996
• TEFL certificate - 1996
• Maitrise FLE (French equivalent to Masters degree in teaching French as a Foreign Language) - Universite de Lyon II
• PGCE (Secondary French) - Univsersity of Lancaster 1997
