Personal Description:
Patient, approachable French and Romanian language tutor, offering enjoyable courses which you can learn at your own pace. I can offer person to person or telephone + e-mail learning. I also run business courses for teams looking to relocate to French territories. All tutor sessions are backed up by straightforward topic-linked coursework (included in price).
I also offer tutoring in Geology and Geophysics, based on my experience teaching MSc courses, in the following subjects: Applied Geophysics, Rock Physics, Experimental Geophysics; and tutoring at BSc level: Field Mapping, Field Structural Geology, Satellite Image processing and interpretation and Aerial Photography interpretation.
I am available to tutor students wishing to prepare for A-level subjects, or in preparation for university courses, or to support students during their BSc, MSc or PhD courses.
Teaching Experience:
My experience lies in teaching at university level in England and France. I taught geology and geophysics (in both English and French) to students of different nationalities. (References available on request, for list of publications, please search under my maiden name, Patricia Domnesteanu.)
Tutoring Approach:
My aim is for the student to derive pleasure from learning the language and to look forward to the next lesson. During the lesson, the student will be completely immersed in their new language and culture. The courses will cover many aspects of national life including politics, local food, traditions and sense of humour.
The courses are aimed at giving the confidence and ability to live, travel or work in a new country. Above all, you should enjoy using your new skills!
The Earth Science course structure will be tailored to the needs of each individual student. A-level students will become motivated to study the subject at a higher level. They will find that the extra information makes their current course far more enjoyable. For degree or higher students, I can offer academic and practical assistance with coursework and fieldwork techniques.
