Personal Description:
I am 29 years old and have a natural enthusiasm and understanding of science that compelled me from a young age to study science and to make it my career.
I teach in a comprehensive school in East Grinstead.
I have an interest in many sports, and used to play hockey to a good standard.
Teaching Experience:
I am a fully qualified Science Teacher since 2003, with experience teaching all 3 areas of science at KS3 and GCSE. I also specialise in teaching Biology and Human Biology to AS/A2 standard. My school switched to OCR syllabus in Sept08 and AQA prior to this. I have held a post as an intervention lead teacher. Part of this role was to develop strategies and materials for the students, parents and their teachers to use, to get the best from students who were underachieving.
Tutoring Approach:
I have a relaxed, informal approach. I try to teach to my students preferred learning style, and encourage them to develop strategies to improve their ability to learn and retain information in preparation for exams and any future study.
