Personal Description:

I am 26 year old Cambridge graduate, currently studying for a engineering PhD at the University of Edinburgh. I love teaching, and can explain things clearly at the right level for the student. I'm very patient, and believe that careful tutoring outside of the pressure of the classroom can be an excellent way to learn.

Teaching Experience:

I'm currently teaching, marking and taking practical labs as part of my PhD, and have a variety of previous (informal) tutoring experience.

Tutoring Approach:

I have a very careful approach to tutoring, based on matching the material to the level of the individual student. I have a natural ability to explain things clearly, and ensure the student understands the main concepts before introducing new things. I revise material regularly and throughout tutoring to build up and reinforce learning. I can provide some exercises and questions, although my aim is to help the student, rather than burden them with extra work.
