Personal Description:

I have completed a three year degree in Applied and Human Biology which i graduated with a 2:1 honours. My degree was very challenging and i was tutored by some of the leading professionals in their field so my degree education was very thorough and solid, also because the degree was applied it meant I spent alot of time in the laboratory so I have picked up many skills in this area also. Currently I study medicine at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary University London after which i will become a qualified doctor. My knowledge in biology is very strong and coupled with my medical knowledge I have in depth resources for these subjects; such as lecture notes, books, slide shows etc. With the increased competition for medical school placements I would be an ideal tutor for preparation for Med School.

Teaching Experience:

For my degree in Applied and Human Biology it was necessary to lead group classes and educate fellow peers in a system called tutor learning. Currently I am in a similar situation twice weekly doing problem based learning. I have tutored my younger brothers and their friends through their GCSE's and AS levels.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe education should incorporate a more interactive approach rather than just sit and read through a book. I try to teach concepts, rather than just cram a students head full of facts and expect them to remember it. Once you understand the main concepts in biology it is easier to understand the harder aspects of biology. Biology and medicine are vast subjects so i teach students how to link concepts and facts to one another to make the subject more interesting and to consolidate learning.

• BSc Applied and Human Biology. 2:1
• Currently Study Medicine
