Personal Description:

I have a PhD in laser beam shaping and a first class BSc in Physics. I am a published scientist and I have teaching experience ranging from lecturing at undergraduate level to tutoring A-level and GCSE students.

I am 34 years old, married with a three year old son. As well as tutoring I also work for a leading firm of UK and European patent attorneys in central London, helping people and companies to protect their ideas.

I am approachable, patient and friendly, and an ideal tutor for anyone needing extra help in Maths or Physics.

Teaching Experience:

I have been teaching Maths and Physics in the UK since 2006.

I have experience in lecturing at first and second year undergraduate level, having taught the Fundamentals of Physics course to English speaking students at Northeastern University in China from 2012-2014.

From 2006 to 2012, I tutored an average of nine students per year, mainly for Maths GCSE and Physics A-levels across the OCR, EdExcel and AQA exam boards.

Tutoring Approach:

I have an enthusiastic approach to tutoring and always try to ensure a real sense of progress and satisfaction by the end of each lesson by working on high priority problem areas first. I pride myself on my ability to explain complex ideas in a simple and memorable way and I also teach exam and revision techniques that really do work.

I offer a friendly relaxed teaching environment tailored to the learning style of each person I teach. During lessons I draw up notes that the student can keep, I work through relevant exam questions, and I set homework within the limits agreed by the student and/ or the parent so that the student can build their confidence in the time between lessons.

• BSc Physics HONS (1st Class)
• A-Level Maths.
