Cindy - Kentish Town tutor

Information About Cindy:

Personal Description:

I am an American citizen who came to study at the University of Glasgow. I was originally a double major (History and Political Science) at the University of Illinois, and transferred to the University of Glasgow, where I graduated with my M.A. in History (Upper 2.1 degree). I then went on to complete my M.Litt in History, and finally pursued a degree in Secondary Teaching (History and Modern Studies).

Teaching Experience:

I have taught at two Catholic secondary schools in Glasgow, and at a wide variety of secondary and primary schools in London. I've taught in non-religious, Jewish, Catholic, and Church of England schools, at all levels.

Tutoring Approach:

I have taught at a wide variety of schools, and consequently a wide variety of students. I have dealt with students that have serious behavioural issues, and students who strive to complete Oxbridge exams. I feel that my background in supply teaching has allowed me to deal with a wide variety of students, and having helped to raise my younger brother has also taught me how to tutor students. I feel that I am very clear in goal setting, and make sure that the student is constantly pushed to achieve- I believe in hard work and lots of studying, but also in having a good laugh. Striving for excellence is part of my teaching, but I also know that excellence is more easily achieved with a dose of humour and fun. Overall, I feel that I can help any student achieve their educational goals in a relaxed and friendly way.
