Information About Suzanne:


Personal Description:

I'm a friendly and experienced teacher who works at Stroud School, one of Hampshire's leading independent preparatory schools. When I'm not teaching there, I offer Maths and English tutoring for Key Stages 1, 2. I particularly specialise in exam preparation and have had much success with children sitting entrance exams for schools including King Edward VI and Portsmouth Grammar.



Teaching Experience:

I have 7 years' primary teaching experience including teaching years 2-8. I have also marked key stage 2 SATs for several years, including both English and Maths papers, giving me an excellent insight into the exam process and expectations.



Tutoring Approach:

My philosophy is that I believe every child has the right to an individual education tailored to their specific needs. Whilst teachers work incredibly hard to ensure pupils receive this in lessons, children often require the added support of one-to-one tutoring to practise techniques and consolidate knowledge. With an increasingly exam-based curriculum, children need practise at test papers and knowledge of exam techniques which schools often don't have the time to offer. Be it for short-term exam support or long-term help consolidating lesson work, I aim to provide a supportive, caring service that gives you peace of mind and your child added skills and confidence.
