Personal Description:

I am an expert in the delivery of training and education. I derive immense satisfaction from seeing my efforts impact positively upon the outlook and understanding of the students it is my responsibility to teach. I have wide experience of the management and enabling of the education function. However, it is the experience of personal contact with the student and the interaction between student and teacher that I enjoy and value most. I have an honours degree (Upper Second) in Mathematics

Teaching Experience:

I am qualified teacher coming to the end of my NQT (probationary) year. I work at a school graded 'Outstanding' by OFSTED and the Mathematics Department is among the top 4% of departments working in state education according to recent government statistics.

Tutoring Approach:

I have always believed that those involved in teaching should want to enjoy the company of children and young people. Moreover they should want to be inspired by their youthful outlook and their desire to learn. To achieve this requires teachers to do much more than to drill their pupils to attain levels of achievement. It is important that the tutees understand the subject they are learning they need to know why things are the way they are not just how to answer exam questions. Much of the time spent with a tutee would be given over to ensuring that the topic they are currently working on is set in the correct context of what they have done previously what they will be studying next.
