Information About Louise:


Personal Description:

My name is Louise Marsland and I am a musician currently living in Leeds. I teach Saxophone to an advanced level up to grade 8 and beyond and clarinet and flute up to grade 5 standard. I specialize in jazz improvisation and jazz music theory.



Teaching Experience:

I have worked with young people in community workshop projects. I have spent time shadowing a local woodwind teacher.



Tutoring Approach:

I focus on the needs of every pupil by finding out what aspects of music they want to learn whilst ensuring all basic technical issues are covered. I aim to make my lesson enjoyable and stimulating whilst still covering all aspects of learning an instrument.

  • BA (Hons) Jazz Studies
  • Grade 8 Jazz Saxophone with High Honours from GSMD
  • Grade 6 Piano with Trinity Examinations
  • A Level music and Music technology
