Personal Description:

I am a native Spanish teacher, University qualified, with Spanish (DELE) and English (PGCE) postgraduate qualifications to teach Spanish as a foreign language. I have two years experience teaching Spanish to English native speakers.

Teaching Experience:

I have two years of experience as a Spanish teacher to foreigners. I started teaching at several language schools in Spain and after a year I went to England to continue my professional career in secondary schools. My teaching experience in England was developed as part of the Professional Graduate Certificate of Education, Secondary, Modern Foreign Languages, at St Martin's College (Carlisle, Cumbria). During the year I was teaching in Spain I also attended several training courses for Spanish teachers organised by the Cervantes Institute where I obtained, among other things, the Diploma in Methodology and Didactics of Spanish as a Foreign Language.

During the year I spent in England I was very well trained in how to teach my language to English native speakers. At St Martin's College I was specially trained to teach Spanish entirely in the target language. After a year of teaching practice in several English secondary schools I can say that the method used really works because most of my students showed a significant improvement. This method, based on a highly communicative approach, showed to be very successful to motivate the students as it not only created their need to communicate in the classroom but also gave them the necessary tools to do so only in Spanish. I have also been trained in how to plan and teach a Spanish lesson, from the long term schemes of work and detailed lesson plans for every lesson to the own elaboration of all the learning materials incorporating the use of new technology in the classroom, such as Power Point and the interactive WhiteBoard.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer private Spanish lessons, all levels, where you will learn at your own pace, with a timetable as flexible as you want, in a communicative and funny way and communicating only in Spanish since the very first day if you want.

Qualifications:

• PGCE MFL Spanish (Professional Graduate Certificate of Education, Secondary, Modern Foreign Languages, Spanish).
• DELE (Diploma to teach Spanish as a Foreign Language)
• Degree in History (Valencia University, Spain)
• 80 credits in Translation and Interpretation: English (Alicante University, Spain)
