Personal Description:

I am a young, enthusiastic tutor with experience of teaching and tutoring to a high standard, in line with National Curriculum guidelines. I have a warm, friendly personality and a desire to meet new people. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and the rewards it can bring for both my tutees and I.

Teaching Experience:

I have had over 2 years' experience of tutoring pupils for all of the above exams. I currently work as a full time teaching assistant in a Manchester primary school, delivering a number of aspects of the Curriculum alongside the teaching staff to children in years 1 to 6. In September 2008 I will leave this post to enrol on a BA (Education) degree course to achieve Qualified Teacher Status by 2012. I have a full enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau (a photocopy of which will be presented prior to tuition), certifying my suitability to work with children.

Tutoring Approach:

I have always sought to gain the best from my pupils/tutees by demanding a high level of work, whilst maintaining a fun and relaxed learning experience throughout. Work is fast-paced but always reflects the ability level of each pupil. As such I provide a challenging course of lessons for each and every pupil, whilst making sure the materials and activities are accessible for their ability level. By constantly affirming positive behaviour and good progress, confidence is bred which will motivate the pupil to strive for success. This considerably increases their chances of achieving it!
