Information About Vera:
Personal Description:
I am a German native, but have lived in England (Brighton) since 2000. I love the country and the culture and I have undertaken most of my studies here. I have worked in many different areas, though, due to a professional 4 year training in pedagogics, I have mainly worked with children and adolescents (nanny, nursery nurse, care worker, summer camp activity leader). I have studied Psychology (BSc) at the University of Sussex and completed a PGCE (postgraduate certificate in education) in modern foreign languages. I am thus a qualified secondary school teacher and I am currently registered as a supply teacher.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught both, German and French across the range (year 7 - A-level) at English secondary schools. I have also spent some time assisting in a Brighton primary school.
I am very familiar with the syllabus for GCSE and A-level and I have worked with different exam boards.
Tutoring Approach:
I am a very patient and flexible teacher with a creative approach to teaching. I account for different learning styles and individual differences and I always try to make learning fun, varied and engaging by using a range of materials and activities.
