Information About Philip:


Personal Description:

I was Head of Mathematics at Wimbledon College for over 20 years. The school had a large sixth form and the A level maths results were excellent. I have written several mathematics textbooks, including ones on 'Core' (pure maths) and mechanics. In fact mechanics is a speciality of mine. though of course I also teach statistics. I also have some experience of A level examining, and believe I understand well the requirements of A level maths exams.



Teaching Experience:

I was Head of Mathematics at Wimbledon College for over 20 years. I have also taught at Dulwich College, Trinity School, Hampton Grammar School and Downside School.



Tutoring Approach:

I use a traditional, intensive approach with emphasis on examination technique, working through past papers, etc. I set and mark homework. My aim is the best possible examination result, and I consider myself to have been very successful with all students who have attended classes regularly and put in the necessary effort.
