Personal Description:

I have a passion for teaching English and Drama and have taught in schools abroad in addition to the private tuition experience I have.

I mostly work with students (children or adults) who are in need of developing their English (either literature or language based) either for school or any other qualification or simply to improve their general English skills such as reading and writing. In addition, I can also help students who want to learn or develop their knowledge of English as a foreign language.

Teaching Experience:

- Over 6 years tutoring experience to over 50 students

-Intense teacher training to groups of adults for my CELTA qualification

- Teaching at an overseas international school as a form teacher and English teacher (6-16 year old)

-Teaching at a revision school

- Working with an educational consultancy

- Tutoring English to adults and children of various age groups both abroad and in the UK

- Tutoring for entrance examination preperation, Key Stages, GCSE, AS and A2 English

- Tutoring one -to - one students and groups for learning English as a foreign language (adults and children)



Tutoring Approach:

Before I charge any student I will conduct an assessment of your needs and type of lessons you want to have. Then a plan will be suggested and details of charges and times will be agreed. My approach to tutoring is that consistency is key. A student and tutor must stick to a program of development and a routine of lessons in order for their to be successful improvement. Motivation is another key aspect and the tutors role includes motivating her student.
For students wanting to improve for school (key skills, GCSE, etc) I as a tutor have an up-to-date knowledge of the syllabuses and what is required from the student in order for them to not only comprehend the work in question but to also be capable of being successful in examinations.
For students wanting to learn English as a foreign language, contrary to group classes where individual needs are somehow ignored, your private lessons can be tailor-made to your specific needs and requirements. You decide what type of lesson you want to have, but I can also offer you advice if you are not sure about your needs. Your private lessons can include:

Grammar
Pronunciation and Accent Reduction
Reading and Writing
Speaking and Conversation
Vocabulary building
If you want to study for a test or an exam, or wish to learn English for a specific reason, my lessons can be tailor-made to suit your needs.

Exams and Tests
If you want to sit for a specific test, lessons can be made using the test's syllabus. Some of the tests you may wish to prepare for are:

Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE)
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
Test of English as a Foreign Language (US-TOEFL)
English for Specific Purposes
