Personal Description:
I studied Education and Psychology at Degree level at Bath Spa University where I gained a 2:1. I then undertook my Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) at Bristol University where my specialist subject was Citizenship. I am extremely passionate about Citizenship as a subject and am now looking to undertake a masters degree focusing on this. I have continued my interest in Psychology by teaching it at A Level and have also undertaken Sociology A Level which has many links to both Citizenship and Psychology and have enjoyed this subject immensely.
Teaching Experience:
I am a secondary teacher of Social Studies (Citizenship and PSHE) and A Level Psychology and A Level Sociology.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe learning should be fun and I try to encorporate interesting activities using a variety of resources including text books, videos, internet etc. Ultimately I promote independent learning and aim to teach students techniques that enable them to gain the confidence to be able to plan their own learning and to enjoy it.
