Personal Description:
My name is Susie, I am 50 years old, married and have 2 children. I moved to West Sussex in 2007 having lived and worked in London for 30 years.
Teaching Experience:
I have been teaching English (including ESOL, EFL, Functional Skills and Literacy) for 17 years, preparing learners from pre-entry to Level 2 and key stages 1 to 3 and GCSE for external examinations. I have experience in teaching learners of all ages from 4 to 80. I specialise in Literacy and have expertise in teaching phonics and handwriting. I have supported Dyslexic learners for the last eight years. I am also an external examiner for two examining bodies.
I am also a qualified ESOL and Literacy teacher trainer.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to work with an ILP (Individual Learning Plan) working towards goals at the pace of the student, having carried out full assessments and detected the appropriate learning style.
