Information About Emma:
Personal Description:
I'm a Journalism graduate who has spent the last eight years working in a media monitoring agency in Edinburgh. I went to school in England and have 11 GCSEs and 4 A Levels. My particular areas of expertise are in reading and writing skills, English and basic French. I currently work as a writer/researcher in the oil and gas industry.
Teaching Experience:
I have spent many hours helping in primary classrooms, assisting the teacher with literacy and computer lessons. I have been frequently employed by family friends to help improve their children's reading and writing abilities.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe tutoring should be very different from a school environment. That's not to say I don't expect hard work, but I do try and make lessons fun. I often got strange looks when helping out in schools when children would start laughing during our sessions. It's like anything in life - if you enjoy it, it doesn't seem like an arduous task!
