Personal Description:

I am a professional drummer/percussionist who has been teaching and performing in the UK, Europe, and America for the last twenty years. My musical experience is in styles that range from Jazz, Pop, Rock, African, Reggae, Experimental, Ethnic, Hip Hop, Funk and others. I play and teach both drum kit and African hand and stick drums. I work with many different contemporary groups in the UK and also America.



Teaching Experience:

I have taught privately throughout my career. I also teach adults in the in team building exercises with business both big and small. I teach one and one and also in groups depending on the requirements of the situation.



Tutoring Approach:

My teaching methods are molded to the individual. The constants for all students are basic skills such as rudiments, strength building, coordination, time keeping, listening, independence and posture. Beyond that I always begin with students by discussing what they want from their drumming. What music they like, what music they would like to play, and how great their ambition may be. I then proceed to tailor lessons to their needs. With children I keep the same approach but emphasise the need to explore a wide range of styles to ensure a good grounding and musical flexibility.
