Information About Beckie:


Personal Description:

I am a recent graduate (2:1) from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff specialising in Media and Popular Culture. I am currently about to finish a Masters degree at the University of Glamorgan and also help out part time with undergraduate students on their dissertation and seminars. I am also a freelance journalist who writes for both local and national publications. My particular areas of interest and expertise are popular music, journalism, advertising, gender studies, film theory, psychoanalysis and textual analysis.



Teaching Experience:

I have taken a number of undergraduate seminars on various media topics and also helped with dissertation supervision



Tutoring Approach:

I am a down to earth tutor, believing the key to success it to ensure a good rapport with the student in order to maximize learning potential. Nothing is too much trouble and I wish to make my students feel as comfortable as possible whilst learning. I believe every student is an individual with the ability to learn anything within the right environment and with the help and encouragement needed.
