Personal Description:
I like learning and am always keen to learn new things. Recently I started a 'Scrapbooking Club' and run scrapbooking workshops. Maths has been a favourite subject of mine since I was a school. I am a mother of grown up children.
Teaching Experience:
I have been a school teacher for 15 years and tutored students up to GCSE in Maths. I am a Graduate in Education.
Tutoring Approach:
I Love Maths! I believe passionately that children can learn to like Maths and do well at it. If you get the fundamental building blocks in place then the rest comes naturally. I start by assessing the student to determine their areas of weakness (and their areas of strength). I then develop a plan which will enable the student to gain confidence and develop their skill in the subject. My approach to tutoring Maths is to make it enjoyable, relevant and practical.
In English I believe that it is important to find what the student enjoys and to build their skill level by using relevant material which is neither to hard or too easy.
