Personal Description:
Though I am British, I have spent several years in South America: Where I learnt spanish and met my husband... Although my husband's English is almost as good as my own, at home we speak mostly in spanish. I love languages and exploring different cultures. If you wanted me as your tutor I'm sure we would have a great time together. I enjoy showing hospitality and I have lots of funny stories to tell!
Teaching Experience:
I have taught English to almost one hundred students in Argentina. I also taught Spanish to English speakers in Amsterdam. My experience varies from teaching large classes, to one to one situations.
I am trained in TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) which is easily applicable to teaching any language.
Tutoring Approach:
I hold the firm belief that learning should be fun. Many of my students had issues with language learning, before being taught by me, because of negative classroom experiences. I prefer the TEFL style, which is extremely creative and seems to take the work out of learning.
I am flexible and would love to find the approach that best suits you. I hold the firm belief that we all learn in different ways. I like to prepare my own material, so it can be perfectly tailored to your needs.
I believe that when learning a language it is necessary to be taught by both native speakers and by people who have gone through the struggle of learning the language themselves. Although I do the majority of the teaching, my husband is always close at hand when help is needed from a native speaker.
