Personal Description:

I'm currently studying for a PhD in the London Centre for Nanotechnology, based at University College London in the field of frustrated magnetism. I am therefore knowledgeable in all areas of physics including thermal, nuclear, statistical and quantum physics as well as electronics and optics as well as my own field. I have marked final year undergraduate problem sheets and thus have a good understanding what examiners expect from students.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught as a laboratory demonstrator to first and second year undergraduates. I have also taught first year undergraduates, aiding them to solve problems for themselves by encouraging a broad understanding of underlying physical principles in classes at UCL. In addition to this I have demonstrated to undergraduate students in mathematics classes, helping them to understand the basic art of problem solving in mathematics by reducing questions into well known forms before solution.

Tutoring Approach:

I believe that encouraging a student to understand the basic laws of physics and mathematics is crucial in allowing them to become confident in problem solving. It is essential that a student be able to think clearly and without inhibition if they are to develop a versatile problem-solving technique.

• PhD Physics (September 2006-Present) University College London.
• MRes Imaging and X-ray Physics, King's College London, Merit obtained.
• BSc Physics with Quantum and Laser Technology, University of Exeter, Dean's commendation obtained.
