Jennifer - Aberdeen tutor
Information About Jennifer:
Personal Description:
I'm an American Masters student who has been living abroad since 2003. I moved to Scotland in September 2006 to study Ethnology and Folklore of Scotland. I work at a Secondary School as an administrator until the end of the school year. Next year I will continue on to my PhD. I have a lot of experience teaching children, including Drama and Improv. I look forward to teaching Elementary Japanese to any age group.
Teaching Experience:
3 years of teaching English as a Foreign Language in Japan. I taught both children and adults, although adults were primarily at the Business level. I worked at Yamaha, Suzuki, Sony, and Honda to prepare employees for overseas transfers. On the third year I concentrated more on kindergarten and primary school English.
Tutoring Approach:
In the past I've been asked to design my own lesson plans, rather than be dependent on a book. If a student chooses a specific topic or grammar problem, I'm more than happy to follow through. If the student would prefer to use a textbook rather than a conversational based lesson, I am happy to design the course with the student. Group conversation classes are welcome!
