Information About Violetta:

Personal Description:

I am a native Russian speaker and a qualified linguist, currently working as a freelance translator and interpreter. I love translating but I enjoy teaching even more - it's so rewarding to see your pupil acquire a new skill and discover a new culture. I have been giving private lessons since 2004.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught Russian to public school pupils, home-schooled children, university students and adults. I am familiar with GCSE and A Level Russian exam requirements and Ab Initio Russian exams at Cambridge University. My experience includes teaching groups in a school environment but, although group lessons have their benefits, I believe that private tuition gives the best results and is more time- and cost-effective. I enjoy teaching students of all levels - from complete beginners to advanced.

Tutoring Approach:

I encourage maximum interaction between a tutor and a student, and after a brief assessment of your current level, we will work together to develop the best plan to improve your comprehension and communication skills.

To make lessons more fun, I use a wide range of resources, including video clips. I also carefully choose and adapt texts from Russian media to make them relevant to your interests.
