Personal Description:

I am a 31 year old qualified primary teacher. I currently work full time as an Outdoor Education Officer. I have my own transport and am a non-smoker. I am looking for some extra hours work tutoring primary age pupils.

Teaching Experience:

I have taught in Primary schools for two years, both with my own class and supply work. I have worked with all stages from nursery to Primary 7, as well as working with pupils with special educational needs.
In my current job I teach outdoors and cover subjects such as bush craft, suvival skills, team building and raising self esteem.
I have tutored pupils in primary subjects as well as standard grade science.
I have also taught children to ride as a Camp Councellor in America.

Tutoring Approach:

I am a friendly and approachable tutor. I try to make learning fun and relevant for my pupils by using different techniques to cover all learning styles. I encourage pupils to ask questions and try out problems for themselves. I break down work into small achievable tasks, this ensures that their confidence increases and they get more out of the sessions. I always use plenty of praise and rewards for achievements.

• BSc Environment (Hons) with Ecology
• Postgraduate Certificate of Education (Primary)
• BTEC Forest School Leader award
