Personal Description:
I am a full time student at the University of Edinburgh currently studying Maths and Physics joint honours. Being a full time student, it means that I am constantly thinking about areas of the subject. I also enjoy sports such as yoga and ultimate frisbee, and have more recently taken up yoga, which helps to bring some clarity and perspective to the mind, especially when Maths and Physics gets a bit too much!
I am currently an intern at a fund management company called Cornelian Asset Management. After I have finished my degree I hope to move into the fund management industry.
Teaching Experience:
I have no teaching experience myself, but for GCSE mathematics I was tutored myself. This experience has enabled me to objectively pin down the strong points of being a tutor, such as how reinforcing the basic principles can be of great advantage, as well as going through worked examples in a clear and concise manner so that confidence is maximised.
Tutoring Approach:
The way I learn maths and physics is by doing. With a student, the approach would be to go through basic methodology of various problems, and then move onto going through questions and past exam papers so that a full range of questions have been thoroughly covered so that the student knows how to confidently and competently deal with anything that an exam might throw at them!
