Personal Description:
I graduated from Bath University with a degree in European Studies with French and Russian. I then went on to do my TESOL Cert. in order to teach English abroad. Between 2003-2006 I lived and worked in France, Russia and Italy. I returned to the UK to do a PGCE in Modern Languages so I am qualified to teach English, French and Russian. these days I live in Plymouth with my husband and my two cats.
Teaching Experience:
I have 5 years teaching experience.
I am qualified to teach French across the Key Stages and at A-Level, however most of my "French" students take lessons with me because they are travelling to France or planning on moving there. I have lived and worked in France so I have a working knowledge of the French system!
I also teach Russian to GCSE and A-Level students. I also teach Russian conversation classes for enthusiasts.
The majority of my teaching nowadays is EFL and ESOL. I teach all kinds of EFL classes incorporating General English, Vocabulary, Grammar and Pronunciation. I also specialise in English examination classes such as IELTS and FCE because I am an English Language examiner.
Tutoring Approach:
I teach a cross range of subjects and students! I enjoy meeting new people and it's satisfying to see students develop their own language skills and grow in confidence. I teach at all levels and adapt lessons to the needs of the individual learner's needs and style of learning. I have a relaxed teaching manner and provide an enjoyable, motivating and practical lessons.
I am available for tutoring most evenings and weekends. I tutor at my house, at your house or at a mutually convenient location. I also tutor via Skype and email.
I offer discounted rates for block bookings and groups of learners (4 max.)
