Personal Description:
I'm a recent graduate and am very enthusiastic about my subjects (French and English literature and language, and History). I'm spending a year in between degrees and would like the opportunity to go over my own knowledge and help pupils of any ages learn either for exams or for personal interest.
Teaching Experience:
I have tutored primary children with learning difficulties and taught music in India, both to large groups and one on one. My mother is a teacher and I have access to a wide range of teaching resources, as well as a thorough knowledge of the Scottish exam system.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe that a one-on-one dialogue is the most effective way of learning and of building confidence in the pupil's own abilities. For exams, understanding the system and working out exactly what is required for each paper is more efficient that merely learning vast amounts of facts, and this can be achieved by practice and discussion.
